District Governor Rachelle Powers

Lion Rachelle has been an extremely active member of the Lions or Leos Club since 2005. She became a lion on April 1, 2007. She also served unofficially for many years as a young student helping the Mad River Lions with many projects working beside her parents and grandparents. She spent months of her time working with the former Leo Advisor to get a club put in place at Stebbins High School in 2003-2004 and formally chartered on April 29, 2005.

She became a charter Stebbins High School Leos club member and was the Vice President and Secretary helping to instill a good base of projects and discipline to keep the program running smoothly for years to come. Rachelle was one of the youngest district Lions club’s president’s taking over at 34 years old. She has served as assistant Tail Twister, 3rd Vice President, 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President and President. She is also an active member on numerous other committees of the club. Lion Rachelle stays very involved in her club’s fundraisers and service projects. She has also served as Zone 2 Chair and continues to do so.

Lion Rachelle has become known as the “plastic lady”. She has provided thousands of pounds of plastic to our club as well as other lions clubs for the Trex recycling project and continues to do so. Many clubs now have Trex benches in their communities due to her help in providing plastic to many clubs.

Lion Rachelle has received 100% attendance multiple times as a lion. Lion Rachelle has received: Council of Governor’s Award of Excellence (2021-2022), District OH6 Lion of the Year (2021-2022), Zone 2 Lion of the Year (2021-2022) and numerous certificates of appreciation.

Lion Rachelle works at Berger Allied in Cincinnati, Ohio where she is the Regional Distribution Manager for the tri-state region. Lion Rachelle is married to fellow Lion, Josh Powers. They have two children (Trenton and Haley).

In Lion Rachelle’s spare time, she enjoys reading, fishing, being a mini-farmer with chickens, bunnies, dogs, cats, etc., and hanging out with her family. She also loves to cook and bake, especially decorating unique cakes.
